About the Role
The Specimen Reception Evening Supervisor plays a vital role in managing and running Specimen Reception in Pathology.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of Technical Officers, ensuring adequate staff coverage throughout shifts.
* Ensure accuracy of data entry and patient identification.
* Oversee turnaround of results, prioritise specimens and identify urgent requests.
* Provide troubleshooting assistance for all enquiries.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in pathology specimen handling.
* Strong organisational, communication and time‐management skills.
* Capability to supervise and support a team within a fast‐paced environment.
Work Conditions
This position is full time, 12:00pm‐8:00pm, with occasional participation in a 24‐hour/7‐day rotating roster as required.
Pre-employment Requirements
* Undergo a pre-employment national police check.
* Comply with Canberra Health Services occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy.
Contract Details
Temporary position for 11 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
