We are looking for a driven Civil Designer to join our team based in Gold Coast office at Carrara. This role is responsible for performing broad, varied and diverse engineering design tasks on assigned projects under general supervision of the lead or manager.
About The Role
* Perform engineering drawings and provide CAD input to engineering reports and presentations undertaken by engineers.
* Develop design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats, and prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases including site plans, utility plan/profiles, grading plans, cross sections, diagrams, submittal reviews and response to information requests as required.
* Assist senior engineers/designers in providing CAD input to assist with developing and managing the project scope including cost estimates, budget, staffing and schedule.
* Assess potential construction sites, check existing structures for upgrades, and create drawings and schematics of projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
* Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final design and contribute toward client project meetings.
* Provide CAD input to engineering project proposals, change orders, client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
* Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments and serve as a liaison between senior engineer and design team.
* Confirm adherence to construction specifications during each phase of a project.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Associate Degree in Engineering (Civil) or similar with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
* Civil 3D experience highly desired, however 12D and similar civil design package experience are acceptable.
* Aptitude to resourcefulness and ability to work largely autonomously under direction of the Design Lead/Manager.
* Intermediate level AutoCAD experience and proficiency in Navisworks/Infraworks will be an advantage.
