About Our School

As the only co-educational Catholic secondary college on the scenic Redlands Coast (Quandamooka Country), Carmel College provides education for approximately 1150 students from Years 7 to 12. Established in 1993, the College has a strong tradition of encouraging students to "Let their light shine" in and for the community through a Marist and Carmelite charism. * Work hours: 30 hours per week
* Salary: $86,601 - $124,725 + super (commensurate with experience)
* Status: Full-time continuing
* Status: Full time fixed term until the end of 2026 school year

About the Opportunity

Carmel College is seeking two dynamic and dedicated Secondary Teachers with expertise in Religious Education, English and Humanities. These positions offer the opportunity to join a vibrant learning community committed to academic excellence, holistic student development and contemporary pedagogical practice. Successful applicants will contribute to high‐quality teaching and learning across their specialist areas, support the College's mission and values, and engage actively in curriculum planning, pastoral care and co‐curricular life.

Responsibilities
* Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner‐centred, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices.
* Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating their effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community.
* Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school and fostering a positive school culture.
* Proactively engaging with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes.
* Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development.
* Ensuring that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

* Creating a supportive, learner‐focused classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
* Expertise in designing and delivering effective curriculum programs in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
* Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to enrich learning experiences and achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
* A passion to support students' spiritual and moral development.
Eligibility and Safeguarding Requirements
* Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
* Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
