**Associate - Debt Investment - Portfolio Management**
**The Opportunity**
A leading global fund established more than 25 years ago to protect and grow the long-term retirement savings of millions of working people around the world. With more than $180 billion of funds under management and head office based in Melbourne the Debt Investment team are looking to expand the team.
The primary focus of the Associate will be to support asset monitoring & valuation operations for the Debt investment team globally across asset backed securities, corporate & leveraged finance and infrastructure.
Key to success will be formed from a foundation of strong analytical skills, ability to evaluate investment performance, sound business judgement and acumen, highly developed Excel skills with strong communication skills (articulate across verbal, written and presentation formats).
**Key Responsibilities**
**Asset Management & Reporting**
- Analysis and review of investment/transactions
- Analysis and review of Asset in the portfolio
- Analyse and process Amendment/consent/waiver requests
- Maintain asset monitoring data for investments, globally
**Valuation**
- Support valuation of assets conducted in accordance with debt investment valuation guidelines
**Presentations**
- Presentation of information: Investment Recommendations / Investment Committee Papers / Valuation Committee / Consultant Presentations, etc.
**Review**
- Maintain relationships with borrowers / brokers / research suppliers to source research data on sectors and individual investments
- Prepare periodic sector information materials for inclusion in wider document for internal/external forums
**Credit Papers**
- Contribute to the preparation and presentation of Credit Papers for the purpose of investment/amendments/restructurings recommendations
**Documentation Support**
- Collation and saving of asset documentation and administrative support for finalisation liaising with the Commercial team
**Key Experience**
- 5+ years of experience in finance with a minimum 3 years in project and/or structured finance (asset backed securities) and/or Corporate or leveraged Finance
- Experience in credit investing/corporate lending and structured/project finance
- Knowledge and interest in financial markets and credit analysis
- Working knowledge of finance documentation
- Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Math, Science (eg. Physics), Finance, Economics, Commerce, Accounting or strong liberal arts degree
