Your new role
You will be responsible for the safe and predictable delivery of the capital portfolio for Structural Remediation projects as part of the Engineering Team.
* Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainability.
* Provide leadership and support to a team of project specialists throughout the project lifecycle, focusing on the governance and execution of investment strategies, standards/frameworks, integration and interface management.
* Identify and assess risks, making risk-informed decisions using our client's risk management framework and build a risk-aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
* Maintain oversight to ensure that projects are executed in compliance with both internal and external governance processes and our requirements.
* Lead the creation of an environment in which lessons learnt, and external best practices are part of the operational processes and identify capital efficiency initiatives and productivity improvements.
* Implement positive communication and cultural processes to support project and operational outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
* Industry Experience: Structural remediation, full project lifecycle, portfolio management (AU$25M-$50M), and mining (QLD coal preferred).
* Leadership & Planning: Led teams of 7+, managed shutdowns/turnarounds, coordinated with contractors and stakeholders.
* Technical Skills: SAP or similar systems, Microsoft Suite, and strong documentation across project registers and plans.
* Qualifications: Trade Certificate, Project Management credentials, or Engineering degree.
* Mindset & Communication: Safety-focused, strategic thinker, strong problem-solving, and clear written communication tailored to diverse audiences
What you'll get in return
You will manage a portfolio of sustaining capital Structural Remediation projects between AU$25M to AU$50M per year, consisting of 2 x CHPP (Coal Handling Processing Plants) and incorporating all steel/concrete infrastructure from the ROM to the TLO. The successful applicant will be required to travel from Brisbane to Moranbah via FIFO arrangement or from the local region via DIDO arrangement, on a 5:2 roster (5 days on, 2 days off). Flexible arrangements, including some working from home, may be available for the right candidate.
