In the Northern Territory, we deliver Financial Wellbeing services and lead the Central Intake Service. This is a Territory-wide service that improves access for people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

Our work builds on a strong foundation in South Australia across foster care, homelessness, emergency relief, family support, counselling and allied health.

About the Role

The Program Support Officer is based in Darwin and supports the Central Intake Service across the Northern Territory.

The Central Intake Service is the single entry point for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. It provides intake, assessment and coordinated referrals across locations so people only tell their story once.

You provide reception and administrative support to ensure the service operates efficiently. You support staff, coordination activities and day-to-day operations across Darwin and Alice Springs.

Your Key Responsibilities

* Act as the first point of contact for the Central Intake Service, managing phone, email and in‐person enquiries in a professional, welcoming and respectful manner.
* Provide general administrative support to Central Intake Service teams and leadership, including correspondence, documentation and coordination tasks that support service operations.
* Support the practical day‐to‐day functioning of the service by coordinating meeting spaces, travel, shared facilities and site‐based needs.
* Assist with stakeholder engagement activities by maintaining contact lists, scheduling meetings, preparing materials and supporting follow‐up actions as required.

What You'll Need to Succeed

* Minimum two years' experience in an administrative role, ideally in a human services or community‐based setting.
* Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and a varied workload.
* Well‐developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully and effectively with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
* Experience working with diverse communities.
