The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver innovative and sustainable water, wastewater and recycled water treatment process planning and infrastructure design solutions for Aurecon's clients. You will be a key member of a highly skilled team that brings ideas to life.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development of process water designs for complex multi‐disciplinary water projects, from concept design to detailed design and construction/commissioning support.
* Contribute to strategic and conceptual planning investigations to identify innovative and sustainable solutions.
* Plan, design and coordinate piping systems for water and wastewater, pump stations, water distribution networks and treatment plants.
* Perform civil design of infrastructure including earthworks, concrete structures, access roads and drainage systems.
* Oversee development of hydraulics and water balance calculations and models.
* Prepare detailed drawings, models and specifications using WaterGems, SewerGEMS, Civil 3D, 12D, OpenPlant, AutoCAD and QGIS.
* Provide technical leadership to junior process engineers across multiple projects.
* Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, process, electrical) to ensure integrated, constructible and cost‐effective designs.
* Work within study and project teams to meet scope and ensure time and budget objectives are achieved.
* Engage and build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, support business development and tenders.
* Produce written reports, documents and presentations to explain engineering ideas and concepts.
* Provide technical input during planning and feasibility stages, including constructability reviews, material selection and cost estimates.
* Support tender and construction phases, including site inspections, responding to queries and ensuring designs are implemented correctly.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process, Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering (or a related discipline).
* 7-10 years of industry experience.
* Strong experience in a consultancy environment with knowledge of project delivery, client interaction and commercial awareness.
* Project experience at all phases of a project's life cycle, particularly concept design, feasibility studies, infrastructure studies, technical management and design management.
* Design experience for water infrastructure.
* Willingness to apply technical skills across all facets of engineering consultancy, including design, leadership, management, client relationship management and work winning.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey civil engineering outcomes to clients, stakeholders and other disciplines.
* Solid time-management and organisational skills.
* Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders.
