Right now, we’re seeking a Client Tax Specialist who will play their part in this shared purpose, while also supporting the progress of clients and colleagues so they can achieve great things. That’s truly rewarding work that will help us continue to deliver life‑critical services where it matters.
About the role
As a Client Tax Specialist, you will apply your specialist income taxation expertise to ensure accurate tax compliance for clients receiving income support and benefits, lead assurance activities and oversee PAYG processes. This is a new role, providing you with an exciting opportunity to shape its impact from day one.
You’ll take national‑level taxation and income changes and relevant legislation insights to help us translate them into our social insurance environment, ensuring our practices remain compliant, efficient and client‑focused. This is a chance to influence how taxation is managed across a unique compensation scheme and make a tangible difference for people recovering from transport accidents.
This is a fast‑paced environment with high volume, so agility and confidence in decision‑making are key. If you don’t have the answer, you’ll know how to find it. You’ll also have the chance to develop leadership skills and influence improvements that make a real difference for clients.
About the Team
You’ll join the Onboarding, Income & Dependency branch within the Service & Operations group, part of the Clients division. This passionate team is committed to helping clients access income to alleviate financial stress so they can focus on recovery following a transport accident. You’ll work closely with leaders and teams across the organisation while providing operational support to our high‑performing Income teams.
You’ll be supported by a Senior Manager with a collaborative, empowering leadership style that creates space for you to drive outcomes and explore opportunities. The culture is dynamic and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, quality and continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for
You’ll bring deep technical knowledge and experience in taxation, supported by a tertiary qualification in accounting and membership with CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Your understanding of State and Federal employment taxes and experience in financial and payroll accounting roles will enable you to provide accurate, compliant advice and oversight.
Relationship builder and trusted advisor
You’ll be approachable and confident in engaging with leaders and teams across the organisation, building strong relationships and providing clear, practical advice when needed. You’ll thrive on being the go‑to person for ad hoc queries and enjoy collaborating to solve complex problems.
Agile and solutions‑focused
You’ll be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities, demonstrating strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret legislation and manage compliance frameworks. When you don’t have the answer, you’ll know how to find it, showing initiative and a mature, solutions‑oriented approach.
Why you’ll love it here
There’s more to work than a competitive salary and amazing employee advantages. As our newest Client Tax Specialist, you’ll also:
- Make a positive difference every day
- Be rewarded for great work through service delivery payment, salary packaging and a reward and recognition program
- Grow and go places with extensive internal opportunities for development and access to the LinkedIn Learning Digital Hub
