Shot Firer – Operational Blasting Specialist We are seeking an experienced Shot Firer to join our Drill Blast team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to a high-performing operation while supporting a strong safety culture and mentoring the next generation of blasting personnel.
About the Role As a key member of the Drill Blast department, you will be responsible for providing technical blasting expertise and ensuring all blasting activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Provide operational blasting knowledge, support and guidance to the crew Carry out shotfiring duties including: Magazine management Managing blast hole loading Tying-in of blast patterns Firing of blasts Following and executing blast designs Collaborate closely with the blast crew to safely and efficiently complete daily tasks Assist with training and mentoring new team members Maintain a strong focus on compliance, safety, and operational excellence About You Current Shotfirer/Blasting ticket (required) Experience in open-cut blasting operations Strong understanding of safety standards, regulations, and explosive handling Ability to work within a tight-knit team in a fast-paced operational environment Strong communication and problem-solving skills What We Offer Consistent 7/7 D/N Rotating roster Supportive team environment with a strong safety culture Opportunities for training, upskilling, and career development Competitive remuneration package At Chandler Macleod, we are committed to fostering a diverse workforce where everyone is welcome.
