Overview
Springwood High School has a current enrolment of 556 students, including 57 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 48 students from language backgrounds other than English. Responsibilities
* Build staff capability in proactive, trauma‐informed and restorative approaches, including data‐informed planning, consistent expectations and differentiated support across two sites.
* Lead personalised learning and support planning, monitor progress and use data to inform targeted interventions that promote students' social, emotional and academic growth.
* Establish and maintain open, transparent lines of communication, including the use of collaborative problem‐solving and restorative conversations to resolve issues and strengthen relationships.
* Demonstrate empathetic and inclusive leadership through highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, engaging, supporting and collaborating with staff, students, parents, and the broader community, with a strong commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and diverse community engagement.
Qualifications
* Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
* Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
* Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
* Well‐developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
* Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.

Unconditional full approval to teach is required. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you must commence the approval process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
