The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, the Assistant Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day‐to‐day financial operations of the business. This position offers broad exposure across accounts payable, reconciliations, month‐end support and financial administration within a fast‐paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
* Prepare electronic payments and maintain supplier relationships
* Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
* Assist with Medicare and revenue reconciliations
* Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies
* Support month‐end reporting, journals and accruals
* Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
* Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
* Support process improvement and finance optimisation initiatives
* Maintain strong financial controls and compliance standards
The Candidate
* Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
* 2+ years' experience in an Assistant Accountant or Accounts Officer role
* Strong reconciliation and accounts payable experience
* Exposure to accounting systems such as Xero, MYOB, Reckon or NetSuite
* Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
* High attention to detail and strong analytical capability
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
* CPA/CA commenced or intention to commence will be highly regarded
