Inventory & Spare Parts Officer (4 days a week)
South West Compressors is looking for an organised, reliable and practical Inventory and Spare Parts Officer to take control of our spare parts, consumables, oils, supplier follow‐up, stock records and workshop readiness.
This is a permanent part‐time role based at our Bunbury / Davenport workshop. The role is 4 days per week, 8 paid hours per day, 32 ordinary hours per week. We need someone who takes stock accuracy seriously, communicates well with technicians and suppliers, and understands that good parts control keeps customers moving.

We are a Western Australian compressed air and pneumatics service business, supporting industrial, commercial, government, infrastructure, mining, agriculture, workshop and regional customers. We provide compressor servicing, breakdown support, preventative maintenance, compressor sales, installations, air quality testing, pressure equipment support, hire compressors, workshop repairs and asset reporting.
Our company is growing and becoming more structured. We use AroFlo, SafetyCulture, controlled procedures and practical workshop systems to improve how we service customers and support our technicians. This role is important because the field team cannot perform properly if parts, records and stock are not controlled.
About the role
You will be responsible for the day‐to‐day control of spare parts and inventory. That includes ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, counting and reconciling parts and consumables. You will work closely with technicians, operations, accounts and suppliers to make sure jobs are prepared properly and stock records are accurate.
Responsibilities
* Managing spare parts, oils, filters, belts, fittings, consumables and workshop stock.
* Ordering and following up parts with suppliers.
* Receiving goods, checking deliveries and resolving shortages or incorrect supply.
* Maintaining accurate stock and purchasing records in AroFlo and approved systems.
* Issuing parts and consumables to the correct jobs, customers or internal records.
* Preparing parts for upcoming technician jobs where lead time allows.
* Assisting with stocktakes, cycle counts and discrepancy investigation.
* Managing walk‐in, phone and online spare‐parts enquiries.
* Supporting parts sales and capturing equipment or service leads for the relevant team member.
* Keeping the parts area, stockroom and receiving area clean, labelled and safe.
* Providing weekly updates on critical stock, supplier issues, backorders and stock risks.
Qualifications
* Experience in inventory, stores, spare parts, procurement, warehousing, service parts or a similar technical support role.
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in inventory, stores, spare parts, procurement, warehousing, service parts or similar technical support roles.
* Mechanical, industrial, automotive, mining, agricultural, compressor, pneumatic or workshop‐parts knowledge is highly regarded.
* Strong attention to detail and pride in accurate records.
* Good computer skills, with AroFlo or other ERP/ inventory system experience highly regarded.
* Ability to communicate clearly with technicians, customers and suppliers.
* Forklift licence preferred, or willingness to obtain if required.
* A practical, honest and reliable approach to work.
