Offer description

This is a business built by people who think bigger and move faster. A financial services and investment group that is scaling across Australia and New Zealand, redefining what growth and ambition look like in a modern, connected economy. Fresh from a landmark merger and a wave of strategic acquisitions, the company is now strengthening its foundations for the next phase of expansion. Systems are being modernised, governance is being elevated and capability is being built across every function. The pace is fast, the vision is clear and the opportunities are multiplying.

As their new Senior Tax Manager - M&A; and International Lead you will find the confidence and stability of a global organisation combined with the energy and creativity of a business that still thinks like a challenger. It is a place where talent is recognised, ownership is rewarded, and ideas are acted on. This is not maintenance work. It is momentum work with a transparent direction and a purpose you can get behind.

The Role This is not a maintenance role; it is a seat at the table where deals are shaped and decisions are made.

As Senior Tax Manager - M&A; and International Lead, you will partner directly with the Group Head of Tax to lead the group’s transaction and international tax capability. You will be the strategic advisor and technical lead for acquisitions, restructures, and cross-border activity, bringing precision and insight to a business that moves fast and executes big.

You will take carriage of complex M&A; work, from due diligence and structuring through to implementation, ensuring that every transaction is executed with rigour and foresight. You will also own the group’s international tax obligations—thin capitalisation, transfer pricing, country-by-country reporting and Pillar II—embedding governance and compliance frameworks that will stand the test of scale.

Your work will reach across the business, collaborating with finance, legal, and corporate development to shape outcomes, manage risk, and turn ambition into execution.

Key areas of responsibility include:-

Leading the group’s M&A; tax work across due diligence, transaction support, and post-acquisition integration.

Providing strategic tax advice on corporate restructures, asset and equity transactions, and duty relief submissions.

Managing international tax compliance including thin capitalisation, transfer pricing, CbCR, and Pillar II implementation.

Monitoring and implementing changes in Australian and international tax law, ensuring proactive process improvement.

Overseeing risk reviews, audits and other tax authority engagements with professionalism and commercial balance.

Partnering across the business to embed tax considerations into planning and investment decisions.

Identifying and mitigating tax risk while ensuring alignment with group strategy and risk appetite.

About You You are a technically exceptional tax professional who thrives where complexity meets opportunity. You have spent your career at the intersection of M&A;, corporate and international tax; whether in Big 4, mid-tier or an in‑house environment - and you are now ready for a role that combines your depth of knowledge with real commercial influence.

You enjoy being in the room where decisions are made. You understand how deals are structured, how risks are managed, and how to balance technical precision with pragmatic solutions. You bring a calm, credible presence, a high level of accountability, and a collaborative approach that earns trust quickly.

Skills & Experience You might already be in commerce and ready for something bigger, or you may have made the move recently and want a platform where you can stretch yourself. Either way, you are motivated by progress, not comfort, and you want a role where your contribution will be visible, valued and lasting:-

Experience across corporate tax and advisory, combining both compliance and strategic delivery.

Deep understanding of company tax law, tax consolidation, and stamp duty.

Experience with international tax frameworks including thin capitalisation, transfer pricing and Pillar II.

Proven ability to deliver technical, strategic and commercially sound tax advice to senior stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on execution and improvement.

Collaborative, proactive and comfortable operating in a high‑paced, change‑oriented environment.

What’s on Offer A senior, high‑impact role at the forefront of the group’s growth and investment agenda.

Direct partnership with the Group Head of Tax on complex, high‑value transactions.

Exposure to local and international M&A; and structuring work of significant scale and variety.

The opportunity to influence how a leading financial group manages its tax and governance framework.

A collaborative culture built on professionalism, curiosity, and respect for technical excellence.

Competitive remuneration and a genuine platform for career growth within an expanding organisation.

This is a career‑defining opportunity to do more than manage tax. It is a chance to build something smarter, stronger and more sustainable within a business that is growing fast enough for your ideas to take shape and strong enough for them to endure.
