The General Manager position is the primary business leader of the property, overseeing all aspects of operation to achieve guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, sales, and revenue growth.
Main Responsibilities:
* Sustains implementation of strategic plans to meet or exceed guest expectations and increase market share.
* Leverages leadership team to execute strategy and guide individual professional development.
* Generates demand and drives revenue through proactive sales initiatives.
* Aligns objectives and goals with brand positioning and success.
Candidate Profile:
Required skills and qualifications include:
• 10+ years of progressive experience in hotel industry preferred.
• Prior GM experience in similar size hotels a plus.
• Resort experience beneficial.
Key Skills and Knowledge:
An ideal candidate should be able to creatively execute against strategy, drive results, and create unique guest experiences within the brand framework.
Business Development Strategy:
The successful General Manager stays current with industry trends, monitors competitors, explores new business opportunities, develops business plans, and translates Marriott global strategic plan into a localized execution plan.
Talent Management and Organizational Capability:
A key responsibility is creating a cohesive Executive Committee, coaching them by providing specific feedback, holding them accountable for performance, and ensuring effective work processes, systems, and teamwork are in place to maximize individual and overall property performance.
