Offering down to earth, yet attentive level of service, our team of hosts and guides are passionate about the area and its wildlife. A truly magical experience all round.
About the role
As the Lodge Manager, you'll oversee all day-to-day operations of the lodge, from leading our field guides and lodge attendants to working closely with the support teams in Sydney. You'll build strong relationships with both local and remote communities, ensuring your team delivers an unforgettable experience for every guest - especially our high-end visitors.
Bamurru Plains hosts up to 20 guests across 10 safari-style bungalows, offering intimate, nature-immersive stays. You'll coordinate airboat safari tours, bush sundowners, and the ongoing care of our stunning natural surrounds. You'll also manage the logistical challenges that come with remote operations. Based on a private property near Kakadu National Park, you'll need to understand the local agreements and lease conditions in place and act as a champion for respectful, sustainable practices.
About you
You'll bring experience in tour guiding or hospitality and won't shy away from rolling up your sleeves each day. Background in safari operations or luxury lodges is a major advantage. Because this role is based in one of the most remote yet stunning locations in Australia, access to trades and services can be limited, so practical skills in basic construction and mechanics will help you keep things running safely and smoothly.
A truck licence is essential, and a coxswain qualification will be highly regarded. Most importantly, you'll thrive in a nature-rich, bushland setting, spending your days with a small, tight-knit team. A great sense of humour goes a long way out here, and it's one of the best parts of the job
As you settle into the role, you'll have consistent guidance, regular check-ins, and steady support to help you succeed and create a truly memorable experience for our guests.
