Tesla is accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy through electric vehicles and energy solutions. Our energy business designs and delivers high-performance grid-connected and off-grid storage products, including Megapac, our utility-scale battery energy storage system.
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to define, develop, and commercialize Megapack offerings for the Asia-Pacific region. You will translate market needs into clear product requirements, drive regional go-to-market strategies, and serve as a key technical resource for sales, finance, and engineering teams.
This cross-functional role requires strong commercial acumen combined with technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering. Prior experience in energy storage, power systems, or product management is highly valued. You must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and bring creativity and passion to a rapidly evolving industry.
The position is based in Melbourne with the APAC Industrial Energy team and reports to the global Product Management team in Palo Alto, California. To ensure effective collaboration, you will need to overlap with Pacific Time for at least three days per week (typically 6 am – 11 am AEST).
What You'll Do- Drive industrial storage product strategy and offerings for APAC based on market research, competitive diligence and customer feedback.
- Represent the region in all product processes
- Define market and product requirements to inform roadmaps.
- Provide the voice of the region in new offering prioritization and development.
- Drive regional adaptations of global offerings (e.g., SCADA, OMI).
- Coordinate translations of technical publications.
- Be accountable for commercialization and successful launch of new offerings in APAC.
- Educate regional teams and enforce adherence to global processes.
- Support the regional team in making product-related decisions.
- Own requirements and roadmap process for region-specific features or offerings.
What You'll Bring- Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Energy-related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- 5+ year(s) of experience in product management or in the energy industry, preferably in the energy storage technology space
- Deep passion for and understanding of the stakeholders and kinds of requirements involved in BESS and sustainable energy
- Experience with Utilities, IPPs, and/or large-scale energy developers is a plus
- An overall rock-solid blend of engineering (electrical, mechanical) and commercial expertise.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams across the globe.
- Ability to execute many projects and tasks in parallel, across many teams, in a short timeframe, with demonstrated ability to pivot rapidly
- A bias for action to propose changes as needed based on industry knowledge, voice of customer, techno-economic analysis, and business or mission value.
