Small Engine Mechanic Job
We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. As a Small Engine Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing faults in engines and parts using manual and computer-assisted methods.
* Detect and diagnose faults in engines and parts using manual and computer-assisted methods
* Dismantle, inspect and reassemble engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components
* Repair or replace worn or defective parts; refer to service manuals as required
* Perform scheduled maintenance services (oil changes, lubrications, tune-ups) to ensure smooth operation and compliance with pollution regulations
* Test and adjust mechanical components post-repair to verify proper performance
* Inspect equipment and issue roadworthiness certificates or provide detailed guidance to achieve compliance
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV, OR a minimum of three years' relevant industry experience in lieu of formal qualifications
* Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and repairing small petrol and battery-powered engines (e.g. lawn mowers, ride-on, trimmers, brushcutters, chainsaws)
* Ability to read technical service manuals and use diagnostic tools and computer-assisted systems
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high rates of efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction
* Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
