Job Title Digital Services Advisor

Job Description WEHI is transforming how our professional services teams empower and enable scientists to deliver world‐leading medical research now and into the future. Following a holistic review and redesign across our professional services and scientific support portfolios, we are now focused on strengthening our critical capabilities, aligning our structures and systems with strategic priorities, and empowering our people to do what they do best. About the Position

The Digital Services Advisor is responsible for the optimisation and continuous improvement of WEHI's digital communications platforms, ensuring digital services effectively support the institute's scientific and commercial priorities while enhancing engagement with scientific, social, philanthropic, and fundraising communities globally and locally. The role is responsible for supporting delivery of scalable, user-centred digital solutions that strengthen external engagement and internal communication with staff and students. The Digital Services Advisor plays a key role in managing and enhancing WEHI\'s digital presence, leading the optimisation of websites, social media channels, search performance, and analytics to ensure all digital touchpoints are aligned with organisational objectives, enterprise architecture, accessibility standards, and brand governance. The role focuses on delivering consistent, accessible, and high-performing digital experiences and outcomes, underpinned by continuous monitoring, insights, and improvement. Working collaboratively across internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders, the Digital Services Advisor provides expert advice, contributes to social media content creation, supports digital strategy implementation, and contributes to governance, risk management, and service optimisation to support communications and engagement and protect and enhance WEHI's reputation.

Selection Criteria

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

* Tertiary qualification in digital, information technology, communications, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience in social media content creation, including video and photography.
* Strong understanding of current and emerging social media trends and content formats.
* Experience managing corporate digital channels or online platforms.
* Demonstrated experience in analytics, SEO, and web performance optimisation.
* Strong understanding of service design, user experience (UX) principles, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
* Experience engaging with cross-functional teams and managing at least one direct report.
* Deep understanding of web content management systems (e.g. WordPress, Sitecore, Drupal, or similar), internal intranet and SharePoint.
* Working knowledge of HTML/CSS fundamentals.
* Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, digital governance, and risk management practices.
* Collaborative approach with confident communication and stakeholder management.

* Demonstrated ability to negotiate with and advise people at all levels.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and share knowledge and support departmental and WEHI goals.
* Comfortable in a fast-evolving digital environment.
* Understands internal and external user needs and translates them into effective digital experiences.
* Solution orientated and able to find practical ways to improve efficiency and user engagement.
* Accountable and willing to take ownership of outcomes and maintain high standards of accuracy and delivery.
* Demonstrated ability to work under limited guidance and to navigate complexity in a changing environment.

Terms of Appointment

This position is ongoing in a full-time capacity. Salary is Professional Services Employee Level 7 ($108,119 - $117,039). Very attractive salary packaging options are available for general living expenses, meal entertainment, novated leasing and more. 12% superannuation payable, plus up to a further 5% after the first 6 months of service via our matching superannuation scheme.
