KAEFER is seeking an experienced Asbestos Removal Site Supervisor to support a key decommissioning program. This role will lead and oversee a dedicated team of asbestos removalists and machine operators, ensuring all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory and client requirements.
Based out of Naval Base with mobilisation to site, you will supervise a crew of 5, plan and coordinate daily removal activities, and maintain strict adherence to asbestos management plans/work method statements and client and KAEFER Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality outcomes while upholding KAEFER's strong safety culture and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
* Supervise asbestos removal work, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion while meeting contractual and regulatory obligations related to Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, Budget and Schedule.
* Coordinate daily meetings with the work group to ensure effective planning, sequencing and delivery of the works in accordance with schedules and deadlines.
* Ensure work areas are correctly erected and sealed off as per regulations, including walkways and areas surrounding the asbestos removal location.
* Reinforce positive behaviour and practices and identify employee development opportunities.
* Conduct regular onsite training, including toolbox meetings on a range of safety and employee relations topics.
* Provide specialist advice, awareness and training to onsite personnel involved in asbestos removal works to ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
About you
Must have completed CPCCDE4008 Supervise Asbestos Removal and be able to provide a copy of certification.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in supervising insulation and general maintenance works or similar within the mining, oil and gas and power industries.
Minimum of 3 years' experience removing non-friable and friable asbestos from various types of work areas and sizes (per square metre).
Knowledge of asbestos removal regulations, guidelines and applicable removal techniques to comply with health, safety, environment and quality.
Organised individual who possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse team members.
Must have a positive, energetic and resilient approach to your work with the ability to manage competing priorities and urgent workforce demands.
Valid Australian work rights are required for this position.
