A leading food manufacturing business based in the Southern Suburbs is seeking an experienced and hands‐on Maintenance Manager to lead the reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement of a modern production facility. This outstanding opportunity allows a proactive maintenance professional to make a genuine impact within a fast‐paced manufacturing environment.
Reporting directly to senior management, the role encompasses overseeing all maintenance activities across the site, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, operational efficiency and compliance with safety and quality standards.
The key focus is the maintenance and optimisation of Thermoforming fixed plant equipment, particularly Multivac machinery, to support production performance and drive preventative maintenance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all site maintenance activities across production and packaging operations.
* Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
* Ensure the reliability and performance of Thermoforming and packaging equipment, including Multivac systems.
* Manage maintenance schedules, shutdowns and capital improvement projects.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase plant efficiency.
* Lead, mentor and develop maintenance personnel and contractors.
* Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance budgets.
* Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety, quality and WHS requirements.
* Utilise and maintain maintenance management systems, including MEX.
About You
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Senior Maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong experience maintaining and troubleshooting Multivac Thermoforming equipment.
* Electrical or Mechanical trade background.
* Sound knowledge and practical experience using MEX CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
* Strong leadership, planning and organisational skills.
* Experience managing preventative maintenance programmes and continuous improvement projects.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of the business.
* Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, packaging or related industries will be highly regarded.
