Adela Support is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and skilled Female Support Worker in Southern suburbs (client’s preference) to join our dynamic team, with a casual position.
This is a very specific role we are looking to fill, hrs are from 9-3pm Monday to Saturday and there is the ability for overnights in the future for the right person. Seeking someone physically fit, mature and experience with complex Autism. Our team is committed to providing exceptional services to individuals with disabilities in the community, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Support: Assist participants in implementing their plans to achieve personal goals and improve outcomes.
- Personal Care: Provide support with activities of daily living, including household tasks, personal care (showering, dressing, feeding), and healthcare needs.
- Life Skills Coaching: Encourage the development of personal skills through hobbies, interests, and life skills training (e.g., shopping, using public transport, managing finances).
- Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care.
- Emotional Support: Offer emotional support to participants and their families, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment.
Essential Skills:
- Communication: Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Compassion: A caring and empathetic approach to participant care.
- Effective Communication: Skilled in active listening and clear, direct communication, ensuring effective service delivery and understanding diverse perspectives.
- Team Collaboration: Able to work independently and as part of a team to deliver optimal participant support and meet evolving needs.
- Problem-Solving: Capable of developing and implementing practical solutions to complex concerns and challenges faced by participants.
- Action-Oriented: Ability to translate ideas into actionable plans, ensuring the successful implementation of strategies.
- Self-Reflection and Development: Committed to personal growth, actively seeking feedback, and continually improving professional skills.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum: Certificate III or IV in Disability or Age Care (or equivalent qualifications).
- Experience: Previous experience in the disability or aged care sector is preferred, or the intention to learn and gain on-the-job experience.
- Clearances: Current Working with Children Clearance and Police Check/Criminal History Check.
- Drivers licence: Current drivers licence with reliable car is a must for this role
