Venue
St Ives Indoor Sport Centre is located at St Ives High School in Sydney's Upper North Shore and will open in early February 2026. The facility includes four sports courts, a multipurpose room, café and underground carpark. Belgravia Leisure will operate the centre outside of school hours.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Sports Centre Venue Manager, the Duty Manager oversees safety, evacuation and operation of the entire facility, directs day‐to‐day operation of programmes and services, and supervises guest experience staff. Casual Duty Managers are required for afternoon, evening and weekend work.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain compliance with all safe work methods and risk management procedures by routinely checking all areas of the facility.
* Coordinate facility bookings and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Perform day‐to‐day tasks to ensure the venue operates safely and effectively.
* Coordinate and deliver community programmes and user groups.
* Coordinate and manage all internal sporting competitions with the Venue Manager.
* Be responsible for venue opening and closing tasks, including presentation.
* Lead and direct programme and cleaning personnel.
* Coordinate all maintenance items with contract stakeholders and preferred suppliers.
* Maintain all programme equipment in safe working order and report maintenance issues to the Venue Manager.
* Coordinate use of coaches and referees to optimise programmes and competitions.
* Handle cash and customer enquiries.
* Perform café duties as directed by the Venue Manager.
* Set up and pack away courts and the multi‐purpose room as required.
Essential Requirements
* Current First Aid / Level 2 First Aid / Senior First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation / CPR Certificate.
* Current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
* Ability to establish community connections with local groups.
* Strong customer service background.
* Knowledge of leisure‐based programmes and local council plans to meet community needs.
* Weekend work availability (dry site, no aquatics).
* Relevant supervisory experience in a similar position.
* Ability to provide quality supervision in a stadium environment and handle emergencies.
* Experience delivering high‐quality customer service and dealing with difficult customers.
Desirable Qualifications
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience/knowledge of sales processes.
* Experience working with multicultural individuals and groups.
* Experience with sporting competitions and events.
* Oxygen Resuscitation Certificate and Defibrillator Certificate.
