This is a recruitment process for a Casual, Permanent Full Time or Fixed Term Full Time appointment for a minimum of six (6) months, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. Job Share arrangements may be considered.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Team Leader Peer Support to join our dynamic team in the Mental Health unit.
The Team Leader uses their Lived Experience to provide operational support, line management and guidance to Peer Workers. The Team Leader works within the multidisciplinary team to enhance the delivery of recovery-oriented, accessible, person-centred Mental Health Services to consumers experiencing severe or acute mental distress and their support persons in the region. The ideal candidate participates in community engagement, development, education and training and contributes to a work environment that fosters continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Lead and support peer workers; provide operational oversight and guidance within a multidisciplinary Mental Health team; contribute to recovery-oriented, person-centred care; engage with community, development, education and training initiatives; support a culture of continuous improvement.
Organization and Context
Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals (FSFHG) provide specialist mental health services across settings including emergency, inpatient, community and liaison services. The MHS upholds a person-centred approach to assessment, treatment and discharge planning. Decision making is collaborative with consumer, family/significant others and support services.
Requirements and Conditions
WA Health and SMHS policies require participation in required screenings and checks (including WWC check where applicable) and may include a criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia for permanent appointments, such as Australian citizenship, permanent residency or a visa that allows indefinite work in Australia for permanent appointments. This selection process may be used to fill similar vacancies across the health service for up to twelve (12) months from the date of endorsed recruitment decision.
