The Snow Centre for Immune Health (SCIH) is driving a new approach to understanding, diagnosing and treating immune diseases. Co-led by WEHI and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Centre brings together leading Australian and international researchers to accelerate discovery and translate it into better patient outcomes.
We are seeking a Research Nurse to join our collaborative team and support the delivery of a flagship longitudinal research program.
About The Role
As a Research Nurse at SCIH, you will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality clinical research, working closely with the Research Nurse Manager, clinician scientists and multidisciplinary teams across RMH and WEHI.
You will be involved in participant recruitment and consent, clinical data and sample collection, and ongoing participant follow-up helping ensure both protocol integrity and a positive participant experience.
This is a dynamic, hands‐on role suited to a nurse who enjoys working across specialties and contributing to impactful, translational research.
What You'll Be Doing
* Identify, recruit and consent participants across multiple clinical specialties at RMH
* Support recruitment and engagement of healthy volunteers
* Coordinate participant follow‐up and ongoing engagement in longitudinal studies
* Perform clinical procedures, including venepuncture and sample collection
* Coordinate the processing and transfer of samples and clinical data to research teams
* Maintain accurate study documentation, consent records and sample tracking systems
* Collaborate with clinicians, researchers and WEHI partners to support study delivery
* Ensure compliance with ethical, regulatory and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements
* Support study start‐up activities and prepare for audits and monitoring processes
* Work collaboratively within the nursing team to meet recruitment and study targets
About You
You are a motivated and adaptable Registered Nurse with strong clinical skills and an interest in research.
You Will Bring
* Current registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse with AHPRA
* Demonstrated clinical competency, including venepuncture
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and clinical environments
* Understanding of clinical research principles, ethics and governance
* Completion of ICH‐GCP training (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
* Experience in clinical research, including recruitment, consent and follow‐up
* Experience with electronic medical records (e.g. EPIC) and research systems (e.g. REDCap)
