Join our Community, Mental Health & Wellbeing team at our sites in the North and North West and make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults experiencing mental health challenges. These permanent, full time role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive care while working alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team.

As a leader and Nurse Practitioner in our Adult Mental Health Services, you will be clinically and operationally responsible for 3 small acute community based services responsible for providing triage, assessment and brief interventions for individuals experiencing acute mental health concerns. You'll work collaboratively with emergency services, emergency departments and mental health services, consumers their families, to develop and implement trauma informed treatment plans that promote recovery and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

* Integrating contemporary information and evidence with experience to support decision making, innovative thinking and objective analysis that are expected at this level.
* Applying and sharing expert clinical knowledge to improve the consumer's care.
* Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments.
* Initiating and interpreting diagnostic pathology and/or radiology.
* Initiating short and medium-term psychotherapies and other treatments including psychotropic and other medications.
* Clinically managing consumers either directly or by delegation, including admitting and discharging from clinical settings.
* Communicating and developing treatment, safety and management plans in collaboration with consumers, other relevant members of the health care team, and General Practitioners.
* Contributing clinical expertise to learning environments, which may include individual/team capability development and/or post registration clinical teaching.
* Operational management.

What You'll Bring

* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA.
* Master Nurse Practitioner with specialisation in mental health.
* Postgraduate qualifications in mental health or psychiatric nursing.
* Significant experience working with all ages across the lifespan experiencing mental health concerns.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to person centred care and recovery principles.
* Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.

Details of Appointment

* Multiple permanent full-time, day worker (with on call) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join us.
* Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

* Salary: $148,470 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type.

Salary Packaging

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility

* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and endorsed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
* Completed a specialist tertiary graduate or postgraduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital-based program that leads to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
* Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
* Current Driver's Licence.
