About the role
Lead complex cargo transport projects across Asia-Pacific, delivering cutting-edge engineering solutions for oversized and heavy-lift logistics.
Drive safety, strategy and stakeholder success in a fast paced, high impact environment.
Some of the key responsibilities and accountabilities:
· Drive project planning, risk management and logistics coordination
· Engineer safe, efficient transport solutions for oversized cargo
· Lead stakeholder engagement, vendor management and client communications
· Identify new business opportunities and support sales strategies
· Ensure compliance with global safety standards and crisis protocols
· Oversea the transportation of heavy-lift and over-dimensional cargo
· Leading and supporting cargo transport and engineering solutions for various types of cargo of various vessels
· Provide specialised transport engineering solutions
· Oversee and ensure all cargo operations adhere to updated plans, company policies and legislative requirements
· Conduct cargo pre inspections
· Supervise and provide on site engineering support as Cargo Superintendent
· Prepare detailed reports on loading and discharge operations
· High level of problem solving that may arise during the transportation process
· Continually evaluate and improve logistics processes to enhance efficiency
· Ensure all logistics activities comply with local, national and international regulations
· Comply with the Global Safety Standards, Policies and Operating Procedures
Skills / experience required:
· Minimum Bachelors degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering or Structural Engineering
· Demonstrated knowledge of Class Societies, Ship Classification Rules and IMO Rules
· Expertise in AutoCAD, Load Planner and structural analysis
· Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
· Excellent project management and organizational skills.
· Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in with cargo planning, structural analysis, and project / logistics management.
· Preferably having more than 5 years of related experience as Cargo Superintendent (CSI).
· Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, produce solutions and operate with an eye for detail
· Self-starter and a committed team player with good interpersonal skills and an analytical mind
· Well-developed communication and team skills with a dedicated approach to meeting customer requirements
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment
· Candidates must have Australian work rights (i.e., Australian or New Zealand Citizenship / Australian Permanent Residency) in order to be considered for this opportunity as Company visa sponsorship will not be provided.
· WA drivers license/ equivalent and no restrictions
· Interstate/ intrastate travel will be required (i.e., Queensland, Pilbara).
