Adult-Servicing Speech Pathologist Role
Your key responsibility will be to deliver high-quality mobile speech pathology services to adults living in residential aged care facilities and the local community.
Our team supports individuals with dementia, Parkinson's disease, post-stroke, progressive neurological disorders, and ageing-related decline. You will have access to extensive resources and internal clinical supervision, as well as opportunities to attend workshops and professional development programs of your choice.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage your calendar of appointments and choose work hours and locations that suit you.
* Assess and diagnose clients' swallowing and communication difficulties.
* Potential for national travel to support clients in regional locations.
* Provide telehealth-based dysphagia and/or communication assessment and intervention.
* Liaise with our close-knit national team of speech pathologists.
* Advocate for support for clients with communication difficulties.
* Work closely with organisational staff, support coordinators, and colleagues to ensure optimum care needs are met.
* Provide consultative and educational support to clients, their families, and colleagues.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will require a professional qualification in speech pathology and active membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
You will need to travel regularly, so having a driver's licence and reliable transport is essential.
