We are seeking an experienced
AWS DevOps / Cloud Engineer
to join a Federal Government program through Indigeco. This position is offered as a contract until the end of June, with strong potential for extensions based on program requirements. You can work from anywhere in Australia, supporting the delivery of secure, automated AWS infrastructure across a multi-account environment aligned to ISM PROTECTED standards. (Client of Indigeco – End Client: Federal Government) You will be engaged by Indigeco, supporting a large Federal Government agency undergoing a strategic cloud and security uplift. The program focuses on building secure, scalable AWS environments, strengthening automation, and improving cloud governance across multiple accounts. You will work alongside experienced cloud, security, and platform teams delivering high-impact national initiatives. Roles and Responsibilities
Design and implement secure AWS VPC architectures, including subnets, routing, NACLs, security groups, and VPC endpoints. Build and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines for AWS infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, AWS CDK, or OpenTofu. Develop and enforce IAM roles, policies, and Service Control Policies (SCPs) across multi-account AWS environments. Automate deployment of core AWS security and monitoring services such as CloudTrail, VPC Flow Logs, CloudWatch, and GuardDuty. Support LiteLLM gateway deployment, governance tagging, and cost-tracking frameworks. Implement secure connectivity patterns, including PrivateLink, VPC Peering, and inter-account access models. Assist onboarding automation using AWS Service Catalog, Control Tower, and Landing Zone tooling. Ensure alignment with Australian Government cloud security standards, including ISM PROTECTED.
