About the Role
On behalf of our client - a leading construction firm specializing in residential, commercial, and industrial projects- we are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join their team. Our client is known for delivering complex builds, including high-end luxury homes, multi-unit developments, and mixed-use commercial structures, with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and sustainable design.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Project Planning & Site Coordination
• Determine construction methods, materials, and quality standards; draft and interpret detailed specifications, drawings, and construction procedures.
• Organize and direct site labour, manage delivery of materials and equipment, and develop comprehensive programs to coordinate all site activities efficiently.
Geotechnical Analysis & Structural Design
• Collect soil and rock samples at various depths, conduct laboratory tests to evaluate strength, compressibility, and other geotechnical properties, and calculate safe loading capacities.
• Analyse structural systems under static and dynamic loads, and design structures to prevent collapse, excessive bending, twisting, or vibration.
Cost Estimation & Budget Control
• Study architectural and engineering drawings to prepare accurate total cost estimates and detailed cost plans, supporting effective budgetary oversight.
• Monitor design changes, assess cost impacts, and measure, value, and negotiate variations to maintain financial control.
Transportation & Infrastructure Planning
• Evaluate current and future travel flow patterns, considering population growth and shifting needs.
• Design physical aspects of transportation systems, including highways, railroads, urban transit, air transport, and logistical supply networks.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
* Minimum 1 year of full-time experience in a related civil engineering position.
* Proficiency in structural analysis software and cost estimation tools.
* Strong knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, and geotechnical practices.
* Excellent project management and communication skills.
* Relevant qualification to above field.
