Data modeller Your new company This organisation is a leading university undertaking a major data and business intelligence transformation. With a strong focus on modernising its data ecosystem, the university is investing in a cloud-native lakehouse architecture to enable scalable, high-quality data solutions that support enterprise reporting and analytics. Your new role As a Data Modeler, you will be responsible for designing and delivering enterprise data models to support the organisation's data transformation journey. You will develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned to a cloud-native lakehouse architecture, ensuring data assets are well-defined, governed, and optimised for integration, reporting, and analytics. Key responsibilities include: Developing enterprise data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) Designing and maintaining models aligned to a cloud-native lakehouse architecture Investigating business rules and defining data integration and transformation logic Performing data modelling using tools such as sqlDBM or similar Producing technical specifications and defining acceptance criteria for data assets Maintaining data dictionaries and metadata documentation Creating and managing Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs) and Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) What you'll need to succeed Demonstrated experience in enterprise data modelling across conceptual, logical, and physical layers Strong understanding of modern data architectures, particularly cloud-native lakehouse patterns Experience working with Azure-based data platforms (preferred) Proven ability to define business rules, transformation logic, and data integration processes Hands-on experience with data modelling tools Strong documentation skills, including technical specifications, metadata, and data dictionaries Ability to create clear visual artefacts such as ERDs and DFDs What you'll get in return You will have the opportunity to play a key role in a large-scale data transformation program within a respected university environment.
