Why is this role for you?
You enjoy the challenge of fit‐out and refurbishment projects. Live environments don't scare you. In fact, you like the complexity and the fast pace of it all. Managing stakeholders, dealing with tight programmes, and delivering projects where deadlines simply cannot move is what keeps you engaged.
The problem is you're currently working in a business where everything feels too corporate, too political or too rigid. You have no chance for further development and feel stuck.
You want to work for a builder where decisions are made quickly, the management team is there with their sleeves rolled up and the team genuinely enjoys coming to work. As an experienced PM, you would be a key part of the management team and, as they grow and diversify their offering to clients, your role and salary will grow as well.
They have quickly grown to a $25 million turnover business in just 2.5 years as a preferred builder for NAB, and around 95% of their work comes from this long‐standing relationship.
With a 3‐year contract in place, they are about to move into a new office and they have Procore set up so they are in a good spot to grow further.
Projects range from minor works valued between $5 k and $500 k to larger fit‐outs and refurbishments worth up to $2 million. This year alone they are delivering a 60‐site national rollout programme for NAB, following more than 150 rollout projects completed last year.
The team is currently 6 people but they want to get to 10 in the next 12 months as they start building hospitality, commercial and retail projects which they have delivered in the past.
The culture is relaxed but hardworking. The team enjoys golf days, pub lunches and regular social events. Last year they went to the Melbourne Cup together and recently took architects and consultants to Rockpool for lunch.
Starting salary is in the $170 k-$190 k + super range with free parking provided at the new Mascot office. The business is relocating to a modern 290 sqm office just 150 m from the train station and they tend to work 7‐4 hours, though they are flexible around this.
If you're looking for a PM role where you can grow your career and you won't get stuck with corporate politics and headaches then this is a great role for you.
What experience do you need?
* You've delivered fit‐out and refurbishment projects as a PM in Australia for at least 4 years.
* You have experience working on live environment projects.
* You can work autonomously and are able to manage multiple projects at once.
* Experience using Procore would be highly advantageous.
I'm intrigued. What's the next step?
