Job Description
Hitachi Rail is seeking a highly motivated Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join their team in Brisbane, Australia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating requirement documents, including high-level design documents, interface control design documents, and detailed software requirements and specifications.
They will also be the primary technical interface to the customer throughout the project cycle and act as a technical liaison relative to the software development effort with other departments within the company.
Additionally, the Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will interface with internal customers and external stakeholders to ensure consistent communication and system integration.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing security management plans, commissioning plans, and contributing to the identification and resolution of interfaces with main subsystems and security systems.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or Telecom Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of cybersecurity system engineering expertise.
Relevant cybersecurity qualifications and certifications are highly desirable, as well as knowledge and experience gained in rail, oil, gas, power, aero, or automotive industry sectors.
The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will contribute to the identification and resolution of interfaces with main subsystems and security systems, ensuring the identification, management, and fulfillment of contractual requirements and customer requests.
Furthermore, they will analyze customer-supplied system specifications, decomposing statements into software requirements, collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute testing protocols, and provide local/remote technical support and troubleshooting during commissioning and operation.
Cyber Security Management Plan
* High-Level Risk Assessment based on NIST 800-53, IEC 62443, and ISO 27000 methodologies
* Detail Risk Assessment (DRA) and Threat and Vulnerability Risk Assessment (TVA)
* Security Case (in accordance with IEC and EN 50129:2018) for security assurance and procedures
* Develop close working relationships with customer cybersecurity representatives
* Drive continuous improvement in developing and capturing technical problem-solving knowledge
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cybersecurity system engineering, with a focus on requirement gathering, risk assessment, and threat mitigation.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or Telecom Engineering is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Relevant certifications and qualifications in cybersecurity are highly desirable, as well as knowledge and experience gained in rail, oil, gas, power, aero, or automotive industry sectors.
