Google Security Architect (GCP)
Help design and assure a Protected Google Cloud Platform (GCP) hosting workplace that will support application migration onto a major Defence network. You’ll validate the vendor‑proposed GCP solution, shape secure landing zones, drive Zero Trust implementation and provide the engineering assurance required for accreditation and build readiness.
Location: ACT or VIC. Onsite within a secure federal government environment
Contract Duration: 6 month initial contract with potential extension options
Security Clearance Requirement: NV1 clearance minimum, NV2 preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Validate and assure the proposed GCP Protected Landing Zone design against enterprise architecture, security and connectivity standards.
- Design and refine GCP landing zones, security controls, patterns and guardrails to support DPN-connected workloads.
- Lead cyber risk assessments and oversee Zero Trust Architecture implementation across the GCP environment.
- Produce, review and assure engineering documentation and GCP designs to support accreditation, validation and build readiness.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience as a Security Architect or Senior Security Engineer working hands‑on with Google Cloud Platform in complex environments.
- Strong grasp of Google Cloud IAM, Security Command Center, Cloud Monitoring and Logging, networking (VPCs, subnets, Cloud NAT, etc.), Secret Manager, endpoint/container security and Zero Trust principles.
- Strong knowledge and experience with security frameworks (ISM, Essential Eight, NIST CSF) and risk‑based security decision‑making in cloud contexts.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex security concepts into clear, business‑centred guidance.
