About the role
GEO Healthcare provides primary healthcare to men in public prisons across Victoria. Pharmacy Technicians assist, within their scope of practice, with the management of medications. This includes assisting in preparation for medication administration rounds, administering prescribed medication, assisting in medication inventory management and ordering medication and other pharmaceuticals under supervision.
Qualifications and Experience (one of the following)
* Certificate III in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician or Community Pharmacy) or equivalent approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
* "Assist Clients with Medication" course as part of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Health Care (e.g. Nursing Assistant).
* Successful completion of medication related courses or modules as part of an undergraduate degree in Nursing or Pharmacy.

* Ability to work within teams and collaboratively across teams.
* Strong computer and information technology skills.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
Other requirements of the role
* Completion of a dispensary assistant module will be highly regarded.
* Medication Administration/Pharmacy Tech experience.
* Ability to work within a prison setting, involving direct contact with people in prison for the delivery of healthcare.
* Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
* Working outside ordinary business hours may be required.
* Onsite working (no hybrid or remote).
