Key Responsibilities
* Promote and reinforce all WPB Non-financial risk role-holders to ensure sound processes are in place to minimize Non-financial risk in the WPB business and form adequate control in the "First Line of Defence".
* Implement the Non-financial risks framework (NRMF) according to the Group’s requirement for better management of Non-financial risks within WPB.
* Enhance and continuously improve the Risk & Control Assessment: process involving scoping, refreshing the risk and control assessments, linking key controls and risk appetite statements.
* Drive best operational practice through risk & control activities, periodic themed control reviews, continuous monitoring processes, liaison with other functional areas and WPB business management.
* Provide advice and support to business teams and local business control managers in WPB to ensure robust Risk & Control team capabilities are built within WPB to strengthen the business.
* Build key stakeholder relationships to ensure forthcoming Group or external initiatives are considered for change on risk and control environment.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in a Finance and/or business-related field with relevant experience in Non-financial risk and controls, preferably gained through experience in first line and risk roles.
* A good understanding of the Non-financial risk Framework and its application.
* Proven problem solving skills with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions.
* Highly developed communication and influencing skills.
* Ability to prioritise and work independently or under pressure within a team environment.
* Knowledge of the changing regulatory environment.
* Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
