Lead a Venue to Success
A key position exists for an accomplished Functions & Events Manager to oversee the hospitality business unit of a landmark, community-based sports and hospitality venue located in East Fremantle.
The Role
You will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of all functions and events across the Cafe, Bar & Restaurant, Function Facilities, Health Club, Football Oval, Bowling Greens, and Croquet Greens. You'll drive the venue's event success through strong client engagement, operational leadership, and revenue growth strategies.
About the Position
* Plan, coordinate, and execute functions and events with a focus on seamless delivery and client satisfaction
* Proactively source and secure new bookings to grow event revenue
* Serve as the main contact for clients, suppliers, stakeholders, and partners
* Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the venue and develop sales strategies
* Manage budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability of the events unit
* Work with kitchen, bar, and operations teams to deliver exceptional service
* Oversee booking systems, update procedures, and support front-of-house as needed
* Recruit, train, and manage event staff to maintain high service standards
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations
* Monitor sales, client feedback, and KPIs to continuously improve events
Key Qualifications and Skills
* 5+ years' experience in functions and events management within hospitality
* Relevant qualifications in hospitality or event management
* Strong knowledge of F&B service, event logistics, and venue operations
* Experience managing event budgets, pricing, and profitability
* Proficiency with hospitality management systems
* Proven client engagement and relationship-building skills
* Strong leadership and organisational abilities to lead a diverse team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a high-volume setting
* WA Approved Manager Certification
