Job Description
The Doorways Case Worker is responsible for providing holistic financial support to individuals and families seeking short-term financial assistance. The role involves delivering person-centred trauma-informed care, facilitating short-term financial assistance, and building capacity in participants to break the cycle of poverty.
About the Role
This position reports to the Regional Manager and is part of the Doorways Team. As a Case Worker, you will work collaboratively with community members, Corps Officers, Volunteers, and other co-located Mission Leaders to deliver an integrated approach to delivering Doorways at the local site.
Responsibilities
1. Assess community members' specific needs, strengths, and interrelated issues and develop high-quality case plans.
2. Use prevention and early intervention strategies to deliver support and services to people experiencing disadvantage and financial hardship.
3. Provide effective response to people experiencing longer-term disadvantage and generational poverty.
Requirements
* A minimum qualification of Diploma in relevant discipline (e.g., Community Services Work) or significant relevant experience.
* Demonstrable experience in working with disadvantaged community members to assist them in affecting positive change in their lives.
* An alignment to and willingness to promote and support the mission, vision, and values of The Salvation Army.
