Job Description
Mighty Orchid Services Pty Ltd A Disability Service Officer plays a pivotal role in coordinating and delivering compassionate care, assistance, and support to individuals living with disabilities. Their objective is to empower individuals with disabilities, fostering increased independence, enhancing their overall quality of life, and promoting active engagement within their communities.

Task & Responsibilities
* Planning, organising, and maintaining roster in accordance with each employee's contract terms.
* Write participants' reports and continuously update participant progress.
* Interview clients and assess the nature and extent of difficulties as per NDIS standards.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities.
* Assess clients' needs and plans, develop and implement educational, training and support programmes.
* Manage onboarding and exit documentation for participants and support workers.
* Roster support workers to assist clients with various household tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning and laundry, to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
* Foster meaningful connections with support workers and clients through active listening, companionship and empathy, promoting mental and emotional well‐being.
* Regularly monitor and maintain accurate records of support workers and clients in the database.
* Step into support worker role as needed to ensure service continuity.
* Coordinate and maintain positive communication with support coordinators and relevant stakeholders.
* Conduct regular assessments of clients' needs and progress, maintain accurate records and promptly report any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
* Support families and provide education and care for disabled persons in services units.
* Ensure the safety and well‐being of clients at all times, following established safety protocols and infection control measures.
* Provide input during care and operations team meetings.
* Maintain participant health records and documentation according to Mighty Orchid Services Pty Ltd's policies.
Qualification & Experience
* Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Associate Degree in Community Services, Preferred or equivalent experience (3+ years).
* English language test results – must be within 3 years of the application.
* Passport and Driver's Licence.
* Knowledge of disability rights.
* Necessary certifications such as Working with Children Check and NDISWC (if applicable).

* A compassionate and patient demeanour.
* Ability to handle challenging behaviours and situations.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Physically able to carry out the duties required by the role.
* The ability to build and maintain rapport with stakeholders, support workers and participants.
