Job Title:
Industrial Relations Legal Specialist
We are seeking an experienced professional to provide specialist advice on industrial relations matters in the workplace.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Provide complex legal advice to senior managers and directors on current employment and industrial matters.
2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry developments.
3. Conduct investigations into employee complaints or other disputes and provide recommendations for resolution.
4. Advise and support in the development and implementation of workforce plans, industrial agreements, and policies.
5. Develop strategies to prevent workplace conflicts and promote positive labour relations.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Laws degree (mandatory) and practicing certificate (or ability to obtain).
* At least 7 years' experience working in HR/IR, preferably in a local government and/or unionised environment.
* Strong analytical, interpretive, problem-solving, and dispute resolution skills.
* Able to effectively prioritise requests while maintaining high standards and accuracy.
* Able to coach, lead, and educate leaders around good people practices.
* Familiarity with WHS legislation and regulation.
