Job Description
Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.
Responsibilities
* Design, build and enhance deployable network capabilities, including LAN switching/routing, WAN assemblies, wideband trunking and black‐core network configurations using technologies such as FDMA/TDMA Satcom, OSPF/EIGRP/BGP, IPv4/IPv6 and secure IP cryptographic nets.
* Conduct configuration, testing and validation activities, preparing Mission Network WAN systems for Army formations, supporting prototype development and contributing to test and evaluation across bearer, WAN, cryptographic and LAN systems.
* Provide specialist integration advice, supporting LIF‐D, Joint and Coalition interoperability, Mission System connectivity, and contributing to architecture and design guidance across LCS and coalition environments.
* Deliver training, stakeholder engagement and technical guidance, including educating Army personnel, informing network topology design and providing SME input to Defence projects and capability development.
* Support innovation, lab development and workforce coordination, including assessing emerging technologies, sustaining the Land Network BTN Battle Lab, and assisting the Validate PMO with workforce direction and reporting.
Qualifications
* Advanced networking expertise, including deployable LAN/WAN design and administration using FDMA/TDMA Satcom, OSPF/EIGRP/BGP, IPv4/IPv6 and voice/video transport technologies.
* Strong understanding of secure communications, including establishing, managing and integrating IP cryptographic networks and supporting secure bearer, WAN and LAN environments.
* Experience in Defence network integration with the ability to provide technical advice across LIF‐D, Joint and Coalition systems, Mission Systems connectivity and interoperability programs.
* Proven capability in network configuration, testing and evaluation, including building WAN assemblies, developing black‐core configurations, prototyping and contributing to capability development decisions.
* Effective stakeholder, training and collaboration skills, including delivering technical training, supporting lab environments, engaging with Defence projects and contributing to innovation and emerging technology assessments.
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the work, you must currently hold and maintain a Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
