Accounting Support Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional to join our finance team in a 3-month contract capacity.
About the Role
This role is primarily focused on core accounting functions that support the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day full accounting function for one of the subsidiaries, as well as processing payroll.
Key Responsibilities
* Month-end accounting including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and cost allocations.
* Monthly balance sheet account reconciliation and P&L accounts review.
* Prepare and analyse job costing reports, identify variances, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
* Assist with fortnightly cash flow projections.
* Monitor and manage aged debtors and oversee debt collection to minimise bad debts.
* Daily bank reconciliation.
* Fixed assets register maintenance.
* Ensure all creditors statements are reconciled, and invoices are processed and paid on time.
* Process fortnightly payroll and ensure compliance with PAYG, superannuation, and state-based payroll tax payment requirements.
* Generate ad-hoc financial and operational reports as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience in accounting support roles, including payroll processing - minimum of 3 years.
* Experience with accounting systems and payroll software - Xero.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
