Sewage Treatment Planning Engineer
The Utilities Asset Planning and Management function is accountable for the development of Local Government Infrastructure Plans, network planning, new/upgrade infrastructure programs, asset management planning, condition assessments and inspection programs, identifying renewal scope for delivery by Infrastructure Delivery teams.
About Your New Role
This position presents a challenging opportunity to work on planning and delivery of new and emerging projects, including the upgrade of four sewage treatment plants.
You will oversee master and detailed planning for sewage treatment plants, bioresource and biosolids management infrastructure, develop strategic business cases through multicriteria assessment, prepare planning reports and relevant design deliverables, and manage consultants, teams, and contractors for specific projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee master and detailed planning for sewage treatment plants, bioresource and biosolids management infrastructure.
* Develop strategic business cases through multicriteria assessment to identify scope, schedule, budget, and risks.
* Prepare planning reports and relevant design deliverables to define design parameters and cost estimates for capital works projects.
* Manage and coordinate consultants, teams, and contractors for specific projects.
* Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
* Contribute to developing and reviewing asset management plans to renew sewage treatment infrastructure.
* Contribute to integrated and strategic catchment planning, considering the impact of sewage treatment plants on the environment, customers, and community.
* Manage investigations into process bottlenecks and deficiencies, process improvement options, and optimization for sewage treatment plants.
* Review proposed upgrade designs and remain involved with design and delivery phases.
* Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to the sewage treatment industry.
* Engage in problem-solving initiatives to address operational challenges.
