Your role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll be responsible for driving on-site operations. This role is perfect for someone with strong technical, communication, and leadership skills. You'll be hands-on and lead by example, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality. Duties include
- Lead civil construction projects, managing staff, subcontractors, and resources.
- Forecast labour needs, support recruitment, and develop team capability.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and identify future leaders.
- Promote culture, values, and accountability.
- Oversee project delivery, coordinate internal teams, and monitor subcontractor performance.
- Support SWEM development and ensure accurate forecasting.
- Supervise and support site Supervisors, and assist with crew development.
- Ensure SHEQ compliance through inspections, risk assessments, reporting, and safety integration.
- Maintain positive communication and relationships with clients.
About You
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proven project management and supervisory experience in civil construction, including planning, organisation, and time management.
- In-depth knowledge of civil earthworks, construction, and demolition processes.
- Ability to build and maintain positive client and subcontractor relationships while ensuring high attention to detail.
- Relevant qualifications (Civil/Structural Engineering or Project Management), current driver’s licence, White Card, and First Aid certificate – desirable.
