At Empowering People in Communities (EPIC), we're a not-for-profit organisation delivering personalised disability and community support across the Pilbara and Goldfields. Our focus is simple: supporting people to live connected, independent lives, and celebrating those wins along the way.
The Opportunity
We're looking for reliable Support Workers in Karratha who genuinely care about people and want to make a difference in their day-to-day lives.
In this role, you'll support participants to build independence, confidence and connection within their community. No two days are the same, and that's exactly what makes it rewarding.
We are particularly interested in applicants who can build positive rapport with participants who may benefit from active, community-based support and consistent role modelling.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting daily living and personal care, as required
* Encouraging independence and skill development
* Supporting community access, social activities and appointments
* Building positive, respectful relationships with participants
* Communicating clearly and respectfully with participants, families and the team
* Keeping accurate records using EPIC systems
* Working a mix of shifts, including evenings and weekends
Location & Employment
* Location: Karratha
* Employment Type: Casual
* Award: SCHADS Award – Level 1.3 to 2.2, based on experience and qualifications
* Start Date: As soon as possible
What We're Looking For
We're looking for people who are:
* Clear communicators who can build trust and connection
* Respectful, reliable and consistent in their approach
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
* Flexible with availability, including after-hours and weekends
* Confident using basic systems for rostering and notes
* Patient, calm and person-centred in their support style
* Able to encourage independence, confidence and safe community participation
You'll also need:
* Valid C-Class Driver's Licence
* Full Australian working rights
* NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
* Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain if required
* Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain within 3 months
* Current CPR certificate, or willingness to obtainExperience supporting people with disability, formal or informal, or a genuine willingness to learn
* Understanding of, or willingness to learn, NDIS Quality & Safeguards requirements
Desirable
* Certificate III or higher in Disability, Community Services or similar
* Experience working in regional or remote communities
* Experience supporting people from diverse backgrounds
* Experience supporting participants with community access, skill development or capacity building
