Environment and Community Advisor – 16‐month maternity leave coverage
Glencore offers a 16‐month maternity leave coverage role for an experienced Environment and Community Advisor. The role supports the mine's environmental and community performance and is reporting to the Environment and Community Manager.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and continuously improve the management systems underpinning the mine's environmental and community performance.
* Provide advice and support to line managers, staff, employees and contractors to ensure commitments to environmental and social responsibility are integrated into day‐to‐day operations and strategic futures.
* Manage compliance with regulatory environmental requirements, Glencore Standards and Mine Standards.
* Identify and manage community and stakeholder expectations, building and maintaining relationships.
* Maintain current environmental systems, including monitoring, reporting, Cultural Heritage, Biodiversity Offset Management, GIS, Pest Management, Community & Stakeholder Engagement, Ground Disturbance activities (operations and exploration) and contractor management.
* Assist in the ongoing development of the Hail Creek Open Cut environmental management systems.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Applied Science, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, with proven environmental management experience.
* Solid understanding of environmental legislation and community liaison practices.
* Visible leadership with strong influencing and communication skills.
* Experience in the mining industry is desirable but not essential.
