A thrilling opportunity has opened up for a permanent full‐time Ships Agency Operator to become part of our team in Weipa, Queensland.
Responsibilities
* Coordinating vessel operations, from planning arrivals to berthing, loading, and departures in collaboration with all port stakeholders.
* Working independently and as part of a cohesive team, ensuring smooth port calls and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
* Continuously learning about business opportunities, port activities, and regulatory updates to stay informed and effective.
* Be prepared for out‐of‐hours and weekend work to ensure task completion, including required periods of staying remotely at on‐site camp.
Qualifications
Strong candidate characteristics include:
* Self‐motivated, results‐driven with a passion for achieving excellence.
* Prior experience or exposure to the shipping industry is advantageous, but we welcome candidates with a strong work ethic and the right attitude to learn and succeed.
* Strong customer service, attention to detail, administrative proficiency, and a good grasp of computer skills.
* Ability to thrive under pressure, meet deadlines effectively, and approach challenges as opportunities for growth.
* Valid Australian work permit and driver's licence with driving experience.
* Eligibility for a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) and ability to pass an AOD test (Alcohol and other drugs) and a lung function test.
