School Finance Specialist

Contract Type: Contract Position Full Time
FTE: 1.0 Limited Tenure
Commencing: As soon as possible – 31 December 2026

Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day (BAU) support for school finance systems, including helpdesk management and query resolution
* Support financial compliance processes including billing, debt management, and end-of-month/year reporting
* Deliver training and coaching to school staff in TechnologyOne and Compass
* Contribute to the development, testing, and rollout of new system modules and improvements
* Develop user guides, training resources, and support materials
* Conduct school visits to provide financial advice and support
* Identify and implement process improvements across financial operations
About You
* Strong financial management systems experience
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
* The ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders across diverse settings
* Sound judgement, discretion, and a high level of integrity
* A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
Essential Requirements
* Bachelor qualification in Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
* Demonstrated experience in financial management systems and school financial processes
* Current Working with Vulnerable People registration (Employment)
* National Police Check
* Accreditation to work in a Catholic school (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
* Experience with TechnologyOne and Compass
* Knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks
Additional Information

This role involves periodic intrastate travel, with occasional stays of 3‐5 days to support school sites across Tasmania.
