Job Description

The Bayswater Hotel is looking for Chefs/Cooks to work with our kitchen team who will report to the Head Chef & Venue Manager.

Responsibilities
* Demonstrate understanding of food preparation and production in the kitchen department, whilst taking direction from the Head Chef to ensure smooth operation of all kitchen duties.
* Ensure consistency of all menu items regardless of time of day or period of service.
* Day‐to‐day effective involvement in food operations.
* Liaise with Chefs and kitchen team to ensure smooth delivery of food to guests.
* Operate kitchen equipment to achieve required results for a la carte and function service.
* Work with the Head Chef to advance and improve current food operations.
* Understand stock control and work with the kitchen team to minimize wastage.
* Understand venue access and security of food stock.
* Maintain alarm codes, venue keys and other access requests.
* Follow food safety policy and procedures (HACCP) and lead safety meetings.
* Understand kitchen labour control and take lead from the Head Chef.
* Monitor and enforce kitchen service standards as provided by the Head Chef.
* Present yourself in accordance with the venue's dress standards.
* Respond to requests to perform other tasks from time to time which contribute to overall success of the venue's operations.
* Maintain service standards particularly during peak periods.
* Maintain a 'Can‐do' attitude in the face of adversity.
* Participate in performance reviews, regular scheduled and unscheduled check‐ins.
Qualifications & Requirements
* At least 2 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen is required.
* All relevant experience will be considered.
* Positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude.
* Ability to excel under pressure in a high‐volume environment with excellent problem‐solving skills.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship skills.
* Attention to detail with a focus on consistency.
* Open and honest in all dealings to the advantage of both you and the business.
Salary

The annual salary range is from $70,000 to $100,000, commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience.
