A private organisation is seeking an Accounts Officer to join its Brisbane-based finance team. Operating within a collaborative and fast-moving environment, the business supports a broad range of financial activities and values accuracy, reliability and robust internal processes. The finance team works closely together to ensure smooth day to day operations while continuously improving workflows and efficiencies.
The Role
This is a hands-on role sitting within a close-knit finance team, supporting the day to day running of finance operations across several areas.
The position offers variety across transactional finance, reconciliations and administrative support, making it well suited to someone who enjoys working across different responsibilities while maintaining robust attention to detail.
Key responsibilities
* Processing invoices and supporting accounts payable activities
* Assisting with accounts receivable, invoicing and payment allocations
* Completing daily bank reconciliations and monitoring transactions
* Preparing payment runs and maintaining financial records
* Supporting month-end activities including journals and reconciliations
* Managing finance-related documentation and responding to queries
* Assisting with process improvements and ad hoc finance tasks
About you
You're an organised and detail-focused finance professional who enjoys supporting the wider team and taking ownership of your work. You're comfortable managing multiple tasks at once and enjoy working in an environment where accuracy matters.
Qualifications
* Experience in an Accounts Officer, Accounts Payable or similar finance role
* Strong understanding of AP, AR and reconciliation processes
* Experience working with accounting systems (Xero or similar advantageous)
* Solid Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* A proactive attitude with a team-focused approach
