This role is ideally designed for a qualified Senior Accountant with a few years of industry experience who is looking to step up, or an individual looking to make their first move out of professional services with a demonstrated track-record of team leadership and management.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will manage a medium sized team of qualified and part-qualified Financial Accountants.
As Financial Accounting Team Lead, you will lead a team to provide effective management of the Financial Accounting Team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring monthly accounting tasks are accurately completed on a timely basis.
Your key responsibilities will include performing and overseeing:
Supervision of the Financial Accounting team via direct report management
GL transactions including leasing, accruals and prepayments
Month-end, including reporting to Group accounting and reporting teams
Monthly financial reconciliations including all balance sheet reconciliations
Investigation of all variances in conjunction with Commercial Finance Team
Collaboration with Commercial Finance Teams to establish trends, strategic plan and budget
Review of Budget information and formulation of monthly journals
Cost allocations between cost centres and or functional units.
Systems and process improvement.
What you'll need to bring
CPA/CA qualification
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
Previous staff supervision experience
Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Excellent time management and prioritisation skill
Excellent numeracy skills, attention to detail and accuracy
